God Statue, Odin

A fantastic statue of Odin wearing a helmet seen on old bronze plate findings and jewelry. Vines are wrapped around his body, representing his state of self-sacrifice when he hung from Yggdrasil to gain the knowledge of the runes. A Valknut, the symbol associated with Odin, is located in the front. "WODANAZ" is written with the Elder Futhark runes in the back, which is the original, Proto-Germanic name of Odin.

A handmade, original design, it is cast it in acrylic resin and painted to resemble ancient bronze by a Swedish artist. This statue makes a great centerpiece on any shelf, table or shrine.

This statue is used by people in modern day Scandinavia both as decoration and in small shrines. Odin is a prominently mentioned god throughout the recorded history of the Germanic peoples, from the Roman occupation of regions of Germania, to his high popularity during the Viking Age. Odin is associated with knowledge, poetry, war, runes, sorcery, healing and death.
