Rune Amulet, Silver

The magical runes of the Elder Futhark cover this amulet. Vikings used the runes to inscribe jewelry, amulets, tools, weapons, and runestones.

The runes were discovered by Odin when he hung himself from a branch of Yggdrasil, the world tree, and pierced himself with his spear, while peering downward into the shadowy waters below. He forbade any of the other gods to grant him the slightest aid, not even a sip of water. Staring downwards, he called to the runes, finally discovering them.
